Towards the end of 2017, a company reached out to me via email offering a free product collaboration by the name of Maple Holistics. I’d never heard of the company before but after checking out their website I found out that Maple Holistics offers a broad range of beauty and personal care products that are all-natural and cruelty-free.
You all know I keep it 100 here with you all and this review is no different. If I’m totally honest, I was definitely skeptical because I wasn’t sure the products were intended for highly textured/natural hair. But since Maple Holistics creates natural/sulfate-free and color-safe products, I figured it’d be worth a try. First good choice.
I was offered the tea tree oil shampoo or any other product I might be interested in, and after checking out the website and considering the state of my hair, I decided to stick with the tea tree oil shampoo. Second good choice. With the depths of winter around the corner, I was starting to experience some serious itchy and irritated scalp, that if this shampoo was worth anything, should take care of.
The Maple Holistics Difference:

- All Natural
Tea Tree Oil Shampoo
Ingredients: Aqua, Jojoba Oil, Botanical Keratin, Argan Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil.
One of the first things I noticed about this product is the ingredient list…there are only SEVEN ingredients and water is the first one. Seriously, we’re quickly on the way to a natural girl holy grail product here. Not only are there only seven ingredients, they’re all ingredients we know aren’t harmful, understand, and can say! Sidenote, I’m aware there are scientific and common names and that is NOT what I’m referring to.

I mentioned before that winter was coming around the time I received this product to review and was experiencing some itchy scalp. I’ve had about 2 months to use this product and really see how it works before giving you my review. Whenever my scalp is feeling irritated, I use the tea tree oil shampoo for the first wash on wash day by adding it to the pads of my fingers and applying directly to my scalp. The tea tree oil in this product is strong and you can literally feel it on your scalp and around your eyes. I don’t mind though because I know it’s doing work! One wash with this shampoo is enough to get the job done well. You might be wondering why I said I used it for the first wash, good question. That’s because I think it’s too much for my actual hair. In other words, it’ll leave it feeling stripped of moisture which is why I only concentrate it on my scalp. This isn’t a bad thing at all. It highlights the importance of being able to isolate the needs of your scalp from your hair. The reality is sometimes they are different and you’ll need to use different products and/or techniques to cater to separate needs.
This tea tree oil shampoo from Maple Holistics delivered exactly how I needed it to by leaving my scalp feeling rejuvenated and fresh, soothing my irritated scalp, and addressing flaking and dandruff. This is definitely a product that I’d keep on hand to specifically address scalp health, specifically during the winter months.
